Why we use licensed imagery

Open directories often receive images copied from business websites or social media without permission. This guide avoids that risk by using documented licensed assets or original images.

Future additions should record the source and license before an image is published.

Useful current resources

Additional Abbotsford photographs

The Abbotsford farm hero image is “Farmhouse and barn in Abbotsford, BC” by Dllu, licensed CC BY-SA 4.0 via Wikimedia Commons. The YXX image is “AbbotsfordAirportEntrance.jpg” by YXXOps, licensed CC BY-SA 4.0 via Wikimedia Commons. Both were cropped and resized into responsive WebP derivatives for this site.

Why the same photo can appear on several related pages

We prefer a smaller set of authentic, properly attributed Abbotsford photographs over a large set of unrelated stock images. Images are reused only when the subject fits, such as farm scenery for agricultural content or Mill Lake for central recreation.
